Tract 800+ Acre Data Center Campus (Letter to the BOS)
Dear Supervisors,
Thank you for your attention. I am Rev. Lisa Sykes,
and I live at 12482 N. Crossing Dr.
Tract is proposing to locate an 800 + acre data center campus with 13 buildings NEXT TO
Mosaic, a 55+ retirement community, with nearly 500 dwellings.
How will diesel emissions impact senior citizens with COPD and emphysema? Do we even know, if we are putting lives at risk??
Are there residents we need to hear from WHO are too ill to come this meeting?
Because of this vulnerable population,
The consideration of Tuckahoe Tech Park should be treated as a public health, and land-use compatibility issue, not just a generic permitting issue.
Let me say that again:
The consideration of Tuckahoe Rech Park should be treated as a public health, and land-use compatibility issue, not just a generic permitting issue.
ALL Supervisors, regardless of district, have a duty of care for all Goochland citizens, especially the most vulnerable: in this case: those with cardiac, pulmonary and auditory vulnerabilities at risk from data center harms, so
The standard MUST be that Goochland County WILL NOT approve a data center near ANY residential neighborhood
UNLESS the applicant proves, through an enforceable power and emissions plan, that it can operate without harming nearby residents.
Please know I fully support the list of proposed use standards offered by Linda Moore.
I also support:
*a C.U.P. for all data centers
*A county-wide, unexploitable prohibition on drilling groundwater
*A binding, funded remediation plan for data center obsolescence
*And planning, under the guidance of Chief Ferguson, for enhanced EMS training and equipment as needed for whatever power generation systems are finally approved.
Thank you.
