Areas of concern for the citizens of Goochland County

Land Use requires a high level of planning. Currently Goochland County does not have the tools needed to successfully plan for the growth in the East end. The Zoning Ordinances need to be amended. According to the Planning and Zoning staff, it has been over 6 years since they were approved. Many many changes to the Land Use proposed in the TOD  however no new use standards have been proposed. 


Getting additional Zoning Ordinance Amendments (ZOA) in place would help the  Planning and Zoning Department with the Plan of Development (POD) process. Helping the Board of Supervisors to understand the need to update the Zoning Ordinances is key.  Only the Board of Supervisors can vote to allow the ZOA process to begin.


We were asked by  Dr. Raley  to serve on  his new  Community Engagement Advisory Committee  to advise on the important work that impacts all of  Goochland County. 


We have accepted the invitation to serve on this new committee. I need your help since I am from District 4. Please let us know that we are heading down the right path for the citizens who live in District 4 and our adjoining District 5. Community Engagement is key for all five districts in Goochland County. 


We will try to keep you updated on "What is happening in District 4?"
